Smart, poignant, and utterly beguiling.. It's not as good as the 1984 version. I say that not just out of nostalgia, but because I think that that was a more satisfying drama.. The best thing about the movie is the humor.. While the outcome is intermittently funny, it's also watered-down and hyperactive..
